Job Description

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, human resources functions including payroll, and office management at Bay Welding Services, Inc. This role encompasses strategic financial planning, budgeting, analysis, reporting, and managing HR processes to support the company’s growth and operational efficiency. This role requires an individual to be high-functioning, well-organized, consistent & reliable, detail-oriented, systems-oriented; all while maintaining a positive and encouraging attitude.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management and Reporting:
• Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and conduct regular budget reviews.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Research and recommend investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with external CPA in preparation of annual tax returns.

2. Cash Flow Management:
• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
• Maintain banking relationships.
• Optimize the company’s cash flow position.

3. Controls and Compliance:
• Responsible for federal, state, and local tax compliance, tax preparations and planning.
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with external CPA in preparation of annual tax filings and/or external audits.

4. Human Resources Management:
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
• Manage employee benefits and compensation programs.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
• Develop and implement HR strategies to support business goals.

5. Office Management and Administration:
• Oversee office operations to ensure a smooth and efficient work environment.
• Manage administrative functions, including office supplies, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support the executive team with administrative tasks as needed.

6. Team Leadership:
• Lead and mentor the finance and HR team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage team performance.

7. Strategic Initiatives:
• Support strategic business initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.
• Advise on financial and HR implications of business activities and decisions.
• Participate in the development and execution of business strategies.

8. Qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in finance management and HR roles.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP) and HR practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
