Job Description
Job SummaryThe Director of Finance is an EXEMPT position that is responsible for the overall success of the Accounting Department and Cornerstone’s financial growth and success. This position oversees financial reporting and planning, strategic development, accounting and internal controls, setting financial targets, and works with key executives, leaders, and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for ensuring the Accounting Team is provided with outstanding leadership by providing Purpose, Direction, Motivation and Development while focusing on organizational overall success and growth
• Serves as the organization’s financial executive responsible for all accounting functions, financial strategic planning, forecasts, investments, and overall financial management
• Monitors organization’s financial performance and risk; directs short- and long-term financial planning to achieve and surpass financial, operational, risk mitigation, and performance goals
• Manages all financial reports to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and can summarize all material in a concise and informative manner to a varied audience; presents an annual summary of organization’s financial performance and applicable forecasts
• Ensures strict adherence to all GAAP rules, applicable state and federal laws, and organization guidelines; participates in all internal and external audits, quality control reviews, assessments, and tax filings
• Participates in regular executive meetings to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic rationale, goals, strategies, and plans designed to improve team and organizational success
• Responsible for completing all financial assessments and recommendations for joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and business development
• Represents the organization for all bonding and insurance matters; produces timely reports, orders and executes new bonds, renews all applicable insurance certificates, and ensures the organization effectively manages vendor and subcontractor insurance certificates

Education and Experience
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
- 5-7 years of Financial Management experience
- 5-7 years of Risk Management or Mitigation experience
- 5-7 years of Financial Analyst, Investment Banker, Financial Manager and/or Investor experience
- 7+ years of leadership experience
- 3+ years as a senior manager or executive level positions
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and financial management and accounting software (Sage, Oracle, Zoho, Quicken, etc.)
PREFERRED
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
- 7+ years of Financial Management experience
- 3+ years of experience in construction industry
- 7+ years of Risk Management or Mitigation experience
- 7+ years of Financial Analyst, Investment Banker, Financial Manager and/or Investor experience
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to drive and pick up supplies and other items as needed
