Job Description

Sr. Accounting Manager
Anchorage, AK
$115,000.00 + DOE

Our client: Alaska Native Corporation seeking the right person to prepare reports and statistics reflecting financial performance, profits, cash balances, or other financial results to ensure entries are in accordance with GAAP and FAR 31 standards.

Would you like to:
Perform prompt recording of the accounts receivable and postings to and closing the related general ledgers monthly.
Post, verify and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, payroll, and/or other ledger accounts.
Perform posting of cash receipts, expenses, or other transactions to journals or ledgers and verify accuracy.
Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Review and post monthly journal entries, cash receipts, and revenue.
Coordinate with outside auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audits.
Assist with merger and acquisition activities as needed.
Assist in closing other general ledgers in preparation for the monthly, quarterly, and year-end consolidation schedules.
Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Do you have:
An ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
An ability to meet deadlines.
An ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
An ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining required schedules.
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of general ledger and is familiar with financial statement consolidation.
Demonstrated ability in general accounting, financial government accounting, and audit principles, procedures, and techniques.
Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
Professional intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; with an emphasis on Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards.
Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in computer and database development.
You need:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) years of professional accounting experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Working with Cost Point and Sage Intacct.
Working in government contracting and construction EAC’s analysis.
Working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs).
