Andrew Blum, CPAAndrew is currently working as an independent attorney, CPA and speaker on estate, tax, retirement and financial planning. Before working on his own, Andrew worked as a financial advisor with two major wire houses. He developed financial, retirement and estate plans, and implemented those plans. From 1989 until his retirement in 2011 at the rank of Commander, Andrew was a JAG Corps attorney with the US Navy Reserves. His diverse legal work included military justice prosecution, military disability law, international law, health care law, environmental law, tax law, estate planning and he developed & implemented the Navy Electronic Tax Filing Program. Of his 22 years with the Navy he served 4 times on active duty totaling 12 years. From 2004 to 2011, he was a trial attorney for the State of Florida in various capacities and agencies when not on active duty. He was in private law practice from 1996-2000 in Pinellas County, FL concentrating in estate planning and compliance, tax planning and compliance, pension and small business law. He also was in private law practice in Broward County, FL from 1987 to 1989 also concentrating in estate planning and compliance, tax planning and compliance, pension and small business law. Prior to attending law school he worked in the audit and tax departments of Coopers & Lybrand in their Fort Lauderdale office. Andrew received his J.D from Nova Southeastern University and an LL.M in Taxation from the University of Miami. He also has his B.B.A. from the University of Miami. He has been a Florida CPA since 1982 and a Florida Attorney since 1986.
